Design Talk No. 9 Aproud Home with Joanne

Hey Hey everyone and welcome back to Design Talk!

I hope you all are having a fab summer. The weather in Ireland atm is absolutely AMAZBALLS! For any of you living outside of Ireland this is a rare occurrence and to be celebrated!

With that, I am going to be chatting to a lovely Irish gal and another DIY Irish Queen! Joanne from Aproud Home.

Joanne started her design journey in her own home creating unique and colourful spaces that make even the Irish weather feel a bit brighter :)

I have been following this lady for years on Instagram and her creations are second to none!

So please sit back relax and see what Joanne has to say on design inspo and her home design gems xxx

1: Heeeyyy Joanne and welcome to Design Talk.. :) Your style is so so unique and quirky I love it! Can you tell me a little about you and what you feel best describes your interior style?

I am a very creative person. I would describe my interior style as creative, colorful and quirky.

2: Yasss! It's so colourful! It actually puts me in a good mood to look at your insta feed and latest creations!!! So what has been your favourite interior project you worked on and why? :)

My favorite interior project to work on was my en suite last year. I painted and stenciled my manky magnolia floor tiles. I also wall papered the walls and painted the woodwork pale pinky peach. It is such a fun room.

3: Haha see ya Magnolia!!! What was the inspiration behind this interior or where do you usually draw your inspiration from?

I am inspired by everything. Hotels, coffee shops and fashion. Other peoples homes and of course I take inspo form Instagram and Pinterest.

4: Love it! What are your go-to interior shops and why?

My go to shops are. Tkmax, Home focus Hickeys, Homesense, Primark, Dunnes Stores, Charity shops I love Avoca too. I love one off things.Thats why I like TKmax and Homesense you pick up pieces that are not mass produced and you can get anywhere.

5: Ya I totally get you and LOVE Homescene! What in your view makes a great designed interior?

For me a great designed interior is having your personality in your home. Experiment with colour. Don't be all grey. Your home should reflect your personal style and personality.

6: Finally Joanne, What interior designer has inspired you the most in your design career and why?

I love Caroline Flannery (interiorsbycaroline) I love her style. And Sophie Robinson I love her. She is a colour lover. I am also inspired by accounts on Instagram not necessarily interior designers. Lisa Dawson and Sandra Baker (the_idle_hands)

Omg, I LOOVVVEEE Sophie Robinson!!! She has such a fun style! Thanks so much, Joanne! You have been great! To keep up to date with Joannes design journeys check out her Instagram page at @aproudhome!

Next month we will be chatting with another Irish lass Natasha Rocca Devine owner of The Interiors NRD and award-winning Interior Designer. Excited? xx
